Jurgen Klopp has been shortlisted for the first edition of the 2020/21 Premier League Manager of the Month Award.

The German has been shortlisted along with Carlo Ancelotti, Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith for the accolade. Klopp won the award last season for an unprecedented five times, surpassing Pep Guardiola’s four in the 2017/2018 season.

He has guided the Champions to win all three Premier League matches which included victories against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal at Anfield following a dramatic 4-3 win against Leeds United in their opening fixture.

Carlo Ancelotti has overseen Everton’s best start of the season 1993/94 after securing the services of Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, Allan from Napoli and Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure. The transformation of the Toffees midfield has given Dominic Calvert-Lewin the function to keep count of Everton goals, having notched five goals in three appearances.

He is joint leading goal scorer with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy with five goals.

Brendan Rodgers has ensured that his side is on top of the League table, converting more chances than any of the nominated managers including Manchester City’s 5-2 humiliation at the Etihad last week.

The Foxes began with a 3-0 win against West Brom before beating Burnley 4-2 at the King Power Stadium.

Aston Villa are the only team yet to concede a goal, with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sheffield United followed by a stylish 3-0 defeat of Fulham. Dean Smith’s side is fourth after two matches after their opening game was postponed by the PL due to Manchester City’s participation in European competition in August.
