The Ashanti Region has so far recorded 53 cases and the money will help in providing food for the needy.

Ghana and Inter Milan player, Kwadwo Asamoah has donated $20,000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to help in the fight against this COVID-19 pandemic.

He joins some of the country's biggest names who continue to rally round in the fight against coronavirus.

Ghana has now recorded 636 confirmed cases as some part of the country is still on partial lockdown as inhabitants at affected areas keep complaining of hardship amidst the government’s and corporate bodies efforts to help resolve the crises by donating through the COVID-19 fund.

The money, will go towards purchasing protective equipments for doctors, paying for those in isolation and providing food and support for the homeless and the aged.

The 31-year-old is currently in Italy, one of the worst hit European country with over 20,000 deaths since the outbreak.

A total of 44,421 persons have so far been tested for the disease, the GHS said in an update.

Greater Accra Region also remains the epicenter for the pandemic with the number of cases in the region now at 509.

 

 

The Ashanti and Eastern Region follow with 53 and 41 Covid-19 cases respectively.

The Northern region still has 10 cases while Volta region stands at nine cases of the novel coronavirus.

Upper West Region has recorded seven and neighboring Upper East region has four cases.

Western and Central Regions have recorded a case each.
