Mahama Reacts To Viral Video Of Kasoa Man Who Was Electrocuted On A High Tension Pole

John Dramani Mahama, a former president of Ghana, responded to a widely shared video of a young man who tragically took his own life on a high-tension pole on October 14, 2022.

The incident occurred while John Dramani Mahama was abroad, and he described the footage he viewed as "heart-aching" and said that "suicide is not a choice" no matter how difficult things are in a country.

He acknowledged the severity of the struggle in the nation while sending a message of support to the family of the deceased and Ghanaians in general via Twitter.

The message also urged people to look out for one another and promised Ghanaians a better tomorrow because "the sun shall rise again."

Former President Mahama tweeted “I returned from a trip to the sad news of Kakra who electrocuted himself. Levels of hardship in Ghana are dire; the worst in 3 decades. But suicide is never an answer. Even in the darkest night, there’ll come dawn. The sun will rise again. Let’s be each other’s keeper & keep hope alive”
