Manchester United adds a Chelsea coach to their backroom staff

Manchester United have hired Eric Ramsey to their coaching staff to strengthen a specific area of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team who is keen to freshen up his backroom staff ahead of next season.
The erstwhile Chelsea youth coach will handle set-pieces and work one-to-one with individual players.
“We have been fortunate enough to convince Eric Ramsey to come and join.
“We are excited, he is young, fresh and with new ideas, an innovative coach we know from before.” Said United manager Solskjaer.
Ramsey joined Shrewsbury as head of youth in 2017 before becoming academy manager and then eventually a senior assistant coach.
He then joined Chelsea in 2019 to work with the Blues’ Under-23s.
Ramsey will work closely with the likes of Luke Shaw, whose dead-ball prowess has improved dramatically over the course of the last 12 months.
The Red Devils’ left-back demonstrated his set-piece prowess with England over the course of Euro 2020, providing the assist for Harry Maguire’s goal against Ukraine during the quarter-final in Rome.
United’s defender who has now been nicknamed Shawberto Carlos capped an impressive month with a goal in the final against Italy and was unlucky not to be named in UEFA’s team of the tournament.
Despite Sunday’s Wembley showpiece ending in agonizing circumstances, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been thrilled at the way in which the 26-year-old has turned his career around.
“I’m so happy for Luke. I was watching it and ‘what’s just happened?” Solskjaer said in reference to Shaw’s goal which arrived inside two minutes.
“He started the attack and we’ve encouraged him to get into the last third.
“We know how technically gifted he is and skilful he is and he hit the ball very, very sweetly. He keeps his eye on the ball, straight laces and its margins again off the post and in, not off the post and out.
“That’s football for you. Luke deserves all the luck he can get. He’s had a tremendous couple of years with us.”
Eric Ramsey will now turn his focus in the camp of the Red Devils to help them strengthen the loopholes of the men at Old Trafford.
