The Ahafo Regional Director of the National  Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has expressed worry over recent domestic fires in Ahafo Region.

Mr Collins Osei Bonsu, Ahafo Regional Director of NADMO in an interview with Soireenews cited a four-bedroom house at Goaso Gyidim, two houses at Nkasiem, one house at Acherensua, a district Police Office at Kukuom and Rejoice FM at Mim all burnt down within two weeks.

Mr Collins Osei Bonsu said though the cause of the fire is not known but has advised landlords to frequently check their electric wiring in their offices and at home by qualified electricians.

He said people should make it a habit to always ensure that electrical cables were well laid and did not pose any threat to life and property.

“The use of gas cylinders and other forms of open fires should be done with a lot of caution and a great sense of responsibility,” he said.

“Fire outbreaks are becoming rampant these days so intensive education will be mounted to educate the public to enable them to prevent fire outbreaks,” Mr Bonsu stated.
