It has emerged that supporters of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region have refused to accept Christmas present from a philanthropist and businessman in Kumasi.

The chief of Agric Nzema, Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo revealed that NDC supporters in the area declined an invitation to participate in an end-of-year exercise which aimed at presenting gifts to the disgruntled and hopeless in the society.

He told Maxwell Attah, a freelance journalist in a sideline interview of an event held at Kumasi on Saturday, 26 December 2020 to distribute bags of rice, fowls and clothes to the aged, widows, orphans, people with disabilities, journalists, among others.

He expressed worry over the failure of the opposition party to unionize following the 2020 election defeat and remarked that "his outfit may not consider gifting the forbearers in future events."

He said the posture of the NDC depicts unpatriotism and urged everyone to be honest and sincere to uplift Ghana.

The NDC has been protesting to challenge the results of the just-ended general elections after they described the polls that killed at least three people to secure victory for the NPP as flawed.

Meanwhile, Nana Boadu has implored members of the largest opposition party to desist from the unlawful protest.

He further praised President Akufo Addo on his decent conduct amidst the agitations from the NDC against the Electoral Commission.
