THE National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, former President John Dramani Mahama is assuring people in Dagbon in the Northern Region that the next party will work to immediately find final roadmap to peace in Dagbon.
Mr  Dramani Mahama indicated that the party is committed to ensuring that citizens in Dagbon enclave of the Yendi Municipality are given the needed hope. 
According to him, that commitment is paramount to any other venture the party will endeavour to undertake.
"We will make sure Dagbon remains peaceful for socio-economic activities to strive leading to much growth and development. On this note, I will like to introduce my younger brother lawyer Fataw Jofa who will be in the ballot together with me, come December, 7th. Please I urge u all to vote for him as well in order that we can form majority in Parliament," he noted
Former President  Dramani Mahama made these remarks when he was speaking at Gbewaa Palace which is the seat of the Yaa Naa of the Kingdom of Dagbon located at Nayilifong along the Yendi-Saboba road in Yendi.
He noted that "Ndan Yaa-Naa, My relationship with u did  not start today, it dated back when u u were in savelegu as Yoo-Naa.
He added that "Today, together we  remember our good friend Hajj Ssisu, who passed on some few weeks ago. Ndan Yaa-Naa, I still remember the work we did together bringing peace to Dagbon.
He said "Today, our country is in hardship and so we need a honest, truthful, competent, and experience government who will lead this country out of our woes. And I am sure the ndc has the men and women to make this possible. 
"We are in on our building the Ghana we want tour, which is why we are here, we have been to other regions and today we are here in the north and Yendi is our first call," he said.
According to him, "We know Dagbon has a lot of challenges and so when we were in government we never denied Yendi the needed development. 
"So today, I am disappointed that in all the work we did in the Yendi water project during our tenure of office  have been to destroyed. 
Ndan Yaa-Naa, I can assure u that when your son gets into power in 2025, In Shaa Allah u won't be tasty again. 
He stated that they are aware of the insecurity in Yendi and its surroundings and and your efforts to end this, adding that "We will make sure it becomes a thing of the past when we assume office in 2025. "
He indicated that the eastern corridor road which started by us before we left power though we completed 70% of the road is now at a slow pace will be completed to make easy access to travellers going to the south.
He said Ndan Yaa-Naa Yendi hospital was going to be  majority municipal referral center which was captured in our manifesto, 2016, 2020 and In Shaa Allah same will be done in 2025 so that Yendi and its environs will not travel to TTH for referral cases
