Stonebwoy has finally had it with the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO).

The dancehall artiste, upon the conclusion of the national Music Summit organised by Vodafone Ghana Music Award, exclaimed that he is tired of the same excuses the royalties collection body gives every time for not being able to properly gather and distribute royalties to artists.

He maintained that the organisation needs to sit up or face the wrath of artists because there will be no need for them if they cannot produce the desired results.

Many artists, including Sidiku Buari, Kwame A-Plus, Guru, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, Kojo Antwi, have all noted that the royalties collection body is a disgrace to the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

“following the national Music Summit @Ghamro_official keeps repeating the same excuses... We are tired! Uncle Rex and uncle Abraham. Our back is against the wall o... and As For The State of #Musigha dier SAD Kwraaah!!” He tweeted.

This came after the MUSIGA summit in Accra, where some artists had already expressed their grievances due to the poor structures established by the Ghana Music Rights Organization.

The artists, fed up with the inept system directly insulted GHAMRO executives at the forum.

“I’m not just pissed. I’m just disappointed in my future because I don’t have any livelihood apart from this music business. I have taken note at this seminar that anytime uncle Rex opens his mouth they talk about business and it’s a fair idea. But I want to ask if they too old to run GHAMRO? Are they overburdened? Are they tired?

"Uncle Rex should put himself in our shoes 40 years ago when he was struggling to do music like me. How did it feel like? Now the likes of Big Ben, Kwame Despite are no longer selling CDs so we are realling hustling. Now when you meet someone, they ask what we are doing aside from music. They should think about our livelihood,” A representative of the artists noted.

Even though the royalties collection body has been trying to step up its game by taking royalties from transport vehicles and churches, the artists maintained that the efforts are still not enough.
