Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is in line to make his Premier League return when Liverpool play Fulham on Sunday.

The midfielder is yet to feature for the Reds this season after sustaining a knee injury during pre-season training. Jurgen Klopp updated that he has been involved in full training with the squad and is in contention for his first league game in the new season.

Alisson Becker has also missed three of Liverpool’s games – Ajax and FC Midtjylland in the Champions League and Wolverhampton Wanderers with a thigh problem is also set to resume full training on Friday.

“Oxlade is in normal training, (he has been) doing parts of training now for a week or so,” said Klopp.

“He is now in full training and we will see. The situation probably demands to involve him as soon as possible, but I don't know if the weekend is that moment already.

“We cannot and will not rush it, but when he's long enough in normal team training then, of course, he becomes an option immediately. It's good, absolutely good.”

The Reds still have injury concerns, with Van Dijk and Gomez set to return. James Milner, Shaqiri and Thiago Alcantara are still sidelined as Tsimikas and Diogo Jota will have to be accessed after picking knocks at Denmark.

“Kostas we have to see, Diogo we have to see - he got a knock as well. That’s it from the game, I think. Apart from that, Oxlade is in normal training. He has been doing parts of training now for a week or so, he is now in full training and we will see,” Klopp added.

“So the situation probably demands to involve him as soon as possible, but I don’t know if the weekend is that already. Nobody else is coming back, I’m afraid.”

The Reds welcome Spurs at Anfield on Wednesday, two days after the Fulham game.
