Parliament Approves Two  Judges To Supreme Court
Parliament of Ghana on Friday December 9, 2022 approved two judges in the persons of Justice Frances Ackah Ayensu and Justice Samuel Kwame Adu Asiedu now named as justices for Supreme Court of Ghana.
Both sides of the House contributed to their approval and urged that, their contribution at the apex court of land must be in the interest of the country in general but not of a particular political party or an appointing authority.
The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in his contribution stated that, he was surprised that, the two justices have not been to the supreme court long ago because, he personally know them to be excellent in their delivery as lawyers and Judges.
The Speaker further explained that, the constitution made a provision for a minimum numbers of Judges to be at the Supreme Court and left the rest for the appointing authority (President) to determine the numbers that needs to be at the Apex court, therefore there is no problem for President to appoint Justices who qualifies to be at the Supreme Court according to the constitution of Ghana.
He noted that, there must be body to  regulate and also assist in appointing justices that qualifies  to be a Supreme Court judge.
