The Abetifi Technical Institute (ABTECH), the first Technical school in Kwahu Abetifi in the Kwahu East District in the Eastern region which was established in the year 1977 running 12 different courses including technical, vocational and business is currently faced with sanitation challenges.

The Current total enrollment of the school is about 1200 students but the school cannot boost of any toilet as a place of convenience for the students in the school.

Though the government educational policies to improve technical and vocational training in the country has now been enhanced and the Abetifi Technical Institute (ABTECH) is one of the beneficiaries absorbed by the government to improve the quality teaching and learning.

In line of Sorienews reporters duty, we have visited the Technical and vocational schools in Kwahu Abetifi Technical Institute (ABTECH), it was discovered that the challenge confronting the school are enormous including the sanitation which appears that about 300 female students shear 3 rooms of toilet facilities with 900 male students to defecate on the olden toilet structure locally called (Atonko) a wooden structure and other students resort and defecate in people's farms close to the school.

In connection with morden toilet meanwhile, a new toilet facility has been put up for the boys but information gathered from our source indicated that the contractor has stopped the work close to a year now.

The students now are appealing to the government and the Ministry of Education to come and complete the abandoned toilet facility for them to get a place to dedicate because is hampering their teaching and learning activities in the school.
