Presbyterian Church of Ghana Ga West YAF hands over to new executive

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Ga West Presbytery Young Adults’ Fellowship (YAF) held a handing-over ceremony last Sunday, August 21, 2022. Practically, the ceremony was to entrust the positions and offices of old executives to newly elected executives.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Ga West Presbytery Young Adults’ Fellowship (YAF) held a handing-over ceremony last Sunday, August 21, 2022. Practically, the ceremony was to entrust the positions and offices of old executives to newly elected executives.

These new executives are expected to govern the affairs of the YAF group within the Ga West Presbytery for the next 3 years. The ceremony was held at PCG Emmanuel Congregation, Dansoman in Accra.


The new executives are made up of Samuel Kodua-Boateng (Abeka District) as President, Kwasi Owusu-Sekyere (Dansoman District) as Vice President, Benjamin Cyril Obeng Offei (Asofan District) as Secretary, Frederick Asamoah (Mamprobi District) as Assistant Secretary and Briandt Achina Junior (Kwashieman District) as Financial Secretary.


The rest are Alfreda Naa Mensah (Kaneshie District) as Treasurer, Emmanuel K Dompreh (Weija Gbawe District) - Organising Secretary, Linda Asare (Adabraka Official Town District) as Women's Commissioner and Rev. Benard Omari Kwakye (Asofan District) as Chaplain.


During the ceremony, the Ga West Presbytery YAF Chaplain, Rev. Bernard Omari Kwakye preached on the theme: Christ in You, the Hope of Glory (Col 1:27). As the chosen slogan for YAF, he advised the group, led by the new executives to take up roles in the church and to ensure the growth of the church. “I urge my brothers and sisters in Christ to take full responsibility for PCG and its activities”, he added.


The new Pesident of Ga West Presbytery YAF, Samuel Kodua-Boateng assured members that his administration will continue the good works started by their predecessors. He also called on all YAF members within the Ga West Presbytery to support them to move the group to a higher base.
“We will work very hard to ensure the completion of the 13 Pavillion projects started by our predecessors”, he said.


Further, at the ceremony the Finance, Editorial, Education, Evangelism, Welfare, Programs and Publicity Committees were also recognised for their stewardship.


The colourful ceremony was graced by dignitaries of PCG: the Ga West Presbytery Clerk - Rev. Dr. Kofi Antwi, the Dansoman District Minister, Rev. T. S Akornor, the General Secretary of YAF National, Mr. Solomon Agyei Mensah, Akuapim Presbytery YAF President, Mr. Frank Ayim Amponsah, Senior Presbyter of Emmanuel Congregation Dansoman and some former executives of the Presbytery YAF from other Presbyteries.
