A statement issued on Monday 1st February 2021 from the Office of the President, signed by the Acting Communications Director, Mr. Eugene Arhin indicates President Nana Addo has maintained the majority of Council of State members.

The list Includes Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Juabenhene, Mr. Sam Okudzeto, Mr.  Stanley Blankson, Dr. Magaret Amoakohene, Mrs. Georgina Kusi, and Mrs. Alberta Cudjoe.

Others include Archbishop Justice Ofei Akrofi, Prof Ato Essuman, Alhaji Aminu Amadu, Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton VI, and Alhaji Sule Yiremiah

Their appointments are pursuant to Article 82 (2)(d) of the 1992 Constitution.

Subject to the approval of Parliament, President Nana Addo appointed in accordance with Article 89(2) section (a)clause (ii) and (iii), General J.B. Danquah, a former Chief of Defense Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, and Nana Owusu Nsiah, a former Inspector General of Police, to the Council.

The statement continues that the former Chief Justice, Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood is proposed by the President for approval of Parliament, in accordance with (2)(a) (i) of Article 89.

The current President of the National House of Chiefs Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II is an ex-officio member of the Council upon Article 89 Clause 2(b).

The release further states that the composition of the Council will be completed with the election of the regional representatives to be held on Friday 12 February 2021.
