Nana Akosua Duah Brayie II has acknowledged the Paramount Chief, Nana Bosomah Asor Nkrawiri II and his sub-chiefs for the trust and honour been done to her.

The Sunyani Traditional Council has enstooled a sixty-one (61) year old retired educationist, Bright Faakye as the paramount queen for the area. 

This comes after the sudden demised of Nana Yaa Nyamaa Poduo II the paramount queen (Sunyani-manhemaa), whose sad incident occurred on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the Regional Hospital in Sunyani.

The 61-year old Mrs Bright Faakye as known in her private life was given a stool name ‘Nana Akosua Duah Asor Brayie II. She served in the Ghana Education Service (GES) for thirty-six (36) years as a teacher and headmistress before going on retirement.

The Queen-mother is married to Mr Collins Faakye and they have been blessed with three children.

Addressing the media after a short colourful swearing-in ceremony at the Boahen Korkor Old Palace in Sunyani, Monday, August 2, 2021, Nana Akosua Duah Brayie II thanked the Paramount Chief, Nana Bosomah Asor Nkrawiri II and his sub-chiefs for the trust and honour been done to her.
 
She promised to support, protect and serve the good people of Sunyani at all times as required.

The Queen-mother added that her new role comes with strong responsibilities and she is very ready to perform the duties and seek the welfare of all sorts of people without discrimination. She also urged her fellow queen mothers to support and pray for her as well.

Speaking on behalf of the Paramount Chief, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, the Chief Linguist, Nana Appiah Kubi called on Almighty God, the gods of the land and the ancestors to guide, protect and lead the queen mother as she begins a new chapter of her life.
