Residents of Bofoaka, Asikasu, Mawaninso, and Agyemkrom in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region have bemoaned the deplorable state of their roads.

According to the Assemblymember of the area Honorable   Joseph Kofi Ezor, the road linking these communities to Mansion is currently not in good shape despite several complaints to the assembly for help.

Honorable Ezor added that there are two bridges on the Mansion Bofoaka road which have collapsed and posing threat to human lives and need immediate attention.
He appealed to the MCE, the Assembly, and all the stakeholders to come to their aid as the rainy season approaches.

President Akufo-Addo has declared 2022 as the third year of roads.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the President announced that his government will continue to see to the construction of several roads in various parts of the country.

“Roads, roads, and more roads. It’s the #YearOfRoads,” he briefly stated.

Describing the year as a “boom in road sector”, he disclosed that nine highways, seven bridges, and five interchanges will be constructed.

In January last year, the President once again committed to bridging the road infrastructure deficit in the country.

Declaring 2021 as the second year of roads, he pledged to prioritize road construction to ensure that a significant number of kilometers across the country are tarred.

He admitted that “there are still many more kilometers to construct,” hence the government’s consistent efforts.
