Two more teachers interdicted in KNUST SHS over student's death

Two teachers of the KNUST Senior High School have reportedly been interdicted over the death of a final year student.

The two; Seth Owusu Ansah, a Senior Housemaster and Anthony Awotwe, a housemaster for Densu House, have been asked to step aside from their duties, as investigation are being carried out into the incident

The directive follows the interdiction of the school’s headmistress, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa, yesterday by the Ghana Education Service (GES) over same incident.

On Tuesday, July 7, a male student of the KNUST Senior High School died from what was suspected to be a COVID-19 infection.

Per reports, he had suffered stomach complications on Monday and was left unattended to by his teachers - who were scared the student had contracted the virulent disease - forcing his friends to care for him amid fears.

The student – identified as Richard Sam – was rushed to an undisclosed health facility but was later pronounced dead by medics.
