The project was initiated by an Assembly member but he run out of funds along the way and the Assembly has refused to take care of the building since his promptings in 2019.

A Fire Service Station at Sofoline in the Kwadaso Municipal solely initiated and financed by Honourable Sir Fosu Agyemang, Assemblymember for Kwadaso North Electoral Area has been left to rot after he run out of funds.

The Fire Station when completed will serve Kwadaso and its surrounding constituents yet it has been consumed by weeds following the good intention of the Assemblymember.

According to the initiator of the idea, Honourable Sir Fosu Agyemang, his vision was to put an end to fire gutting down asset due to delay by the fire service in the Municipal after witnessing three situations where fire stripped-down homes.

He revealed that following his extensive plan, he contacted the free service department and they made known of their unfortunate financial position to open an office at Kwadaso, yet he held discussions with the rest of the Assembly members and took it upon himself to build the place in 2018.

“Leaders are meant to solve societal problems so I thought it wise to build the fire station because after witnessing three incidents of fire gutting down houses, I decided to do something to resolve that challenge,” he told Kingdom FM monitored by Soireenews reporter, Isaac Owusu.

“I wrote a letter to the fire department to extend their arms to Kwadaso but revealed they are not prepared due to financial issues and encouraged us to start something. After meeting my assembly members, we decided to build a fire station,” he added.

The project 10-office building is almost done, save the windows, ceiling, electric wiring and floor tiles as a result of running out of funds, he spoke with the Assembly to complete the building for use yet the influx of coronavirus affected investment till now.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Richmond Agyenim Boateng in an interview confirmed the existence of the project and assured that plans are in place to complete the building for its intended purpose.

He commended Honourable Sir Fosu Agyemang for the patriotism shown towards Ghana and the Kwadaso Municipality.
