The Ahafo Regional Minister, Honourable George Yaw Boakye, has appealed to the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Lu Kun, as well as a business representative of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) to invest in the Ahafo Region to demote poverty. 

The Minister, among other things, discussed his commitment to ensuring a strong business relationship between the people of Ahafo, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, as well as the government of the People's Republic of China, which in the long run will serve his vision of dealing with the massive youth unemployment in the Ahafo Region. 

He outlined the huge potentials in investing in Agriculture, Tourism, Mining, Roads, Housing and Healthcare in the region. 

Honourable George Yaw Boakye again stressed the availability of resources strategically distributed across the region as an advantage for a successful business take-off. 

On his part, H.E Lu Kun expressed interest in a strong relationship between his office and the good people of Ahafo.

He explained that several Chinese companies and investors were interested in the Ghanaian market, however, he was happy that the Ahafo Regional Minister has called in at the right time.

The Ambassador admitted that he will facilitate several investors to come to the Ahafo Region in regards to the potentials outlined by the Minister.

The Minister was in the meeting with the Chief Director of the Regional Coordinating Council (Mr Ebenezer Amoah) and all the six(6) MDCEs of the Ahafo Region.
