David Alaba has confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current season.

The 28-year old contract runs out at the end of the season and has been approached by numerous European clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City but the favourite among them is Real Madrid, who are reported to have already agreed a four year deal with the defender.

Alaba through a press conference told that he will leave the Bundesliga in the summer but his destination was not revealed.

"I've made a decision to try something new next season and say goodbye to this club," Alaba said. "It's been a very difficult decision.

"I'm not going to say anything about my next team yet. There are several clubs interested."

Bayern have already announced a replacement for David Alaba as a deal has been agreed for RB Leipzig’s centre back, Dayot Upamecano who will join the Bavarians in the summer.

Marca has earlier confirmed that the defender has agreed a four year deal with Real Madrid and would be their first signing of the Los Blancos when the season ends for another.
