Gonja Community Enskins New Chief Climax Damba Festival
The Grand Durbar of Damba Celebration was held Saturday 20th January 2024 at the forecourt of the Kumasi Central Mosque under the theme: Uniting for Socio-Economic Development through Culture, the Role of Chieftaincy Institutions.

The New Gonja Chief of Ashanti Region EWÜRA ALHAJI ABDUL FATAH IDDRISU, has been enskinned as the overlord of the Ashanti Regional Gonja Traditional leaders and head of the vabinet.
This enskinment ceremony was held during the 2023/2024 Damba Festival Celebration at Akwatialine in Kumasi on Saturday January 20,2024.
The Grand Durbar of Damba Celebration was held Saturday 20th January 2024 at the forecourt of the Kumasi Central Mosque under the theme: Uniting for Socio-Economic Development through Culture, the Role of Chieftaincy Institutions.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, the spokesperson for the Gonja Community Ewura Baba Alhassan (Kokoliwura) expressed his gratitude to the entire Zongo community for their outstanding turnout at the final Durbar. He called for unity amongst them and strive for development.
On his part, Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene, Alhaji Abdul Ali Barry, further applauded participants.
He called on other tribes living in the Asante Kingdom to emulate the peaceful nature of the people of Asanteman to enjoy development.
Otumfuo Brempong who is also the Chief of Homabenase, Nana Antwi Boasiako representing Otumfuo Osei Tutu Il at the event emphasized that the presence of the various tribes across the country in Asanteman is a testimony to the fact that Asante is open to all manner of persons and a symbol of peace and unity.
