Diego Maradona is dead, talkSPORTS reports.
The Argentine maestro died at the age of 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Argentine on Wednesday morning.
The World Cup winner was recently discharged from the hospital after brain surgery and on Tuesday evening, news outlets in the South American country reported of his demise.
Maradona played four FIFA World Cups, including the 1986 World Cup in Mexico where he captained Argentina and to victory and won the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.
He is remembered with his dribbling prowess and his ‘Hand of God’ tag after punching the ball over the despairing leap of Peter Shilton and into the back of the net in a World Cup quarter-final against England.
