Asuopiri Central Assembly Member Has Fished Out Truant Students Within The District

IT HAS emerged that the Assembly Member for Asuopiri Central Electoral Area in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region who is also seeking for his second term, Honourable Issifu Issah popularly known as Honourable KBY has taking full responsibility upon himself to go community by community to fish out truant students within the community.

Truant behavior is done by means of not going to school for full day, coming to school but not following the lessons as the schedule set or escaping from teaching and learning activities.

The truant behavior develops easily into behavior with continuous symptoms by permanent absence in the school .

Truancy is now becoming a canker in Dormaa West District especially the district Capital Nkrankwanta.

Upon this, the Assembly member fished out the traunt students as part of his measures to eradicate truancy in the district.

Speaking to Honourable KB, he disclosed that, about twenty students so far has been fished out for not going to  school.

According to him, some of these students have expressed their minor problems which is driving them from going to school.

Problems like, not having school uniforms, school bags and shoes.

He has helped purchase such items to about ten students and which made them to go back to school.

He further expressed his displeasure on irresponsible parenting in the society that some of the parents or guidance doesn’t 

value the importance of sending their wards to schools.
