The Jaman North District Health Promotion officer of the Ghana Health Service, Mr Isaac Takyi, has admonished Ghanaians to desist from excessive smoking of cigarette and other hard drugs which are supported by smoke since it has highest contributing factors to tuberculosis infections.

The Jaman North District Health Promotion officer of the Ghana Health Service, Mr. Isaac Takyi, has admonished Ghanaians to desist from excessive smoking of cigarette and other hard drugs which are supported by smoke since it has the highest contributing factors to tuberculosis infections.
He explained that tuberculosis is an ailment caused by bacteria that easily affect the lungs hence the need for people to desist from activities that weakens the lungs.
Explaining the complications of Tuberculosis,  he stressed that it can attack the spinal cord which may subsequently affect the thinking ability,  it also weakens the human joints and may lead to death.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, Mr. Takyi stated that hat, though Tuberculosis is a dangerous infection that travels through the air to others in the shortest possible time it is curable through proper intake of prescribed medication.
He urged people who are diagnosed with tuberculosis to continuously ensure the intake of their drugs to cure the ailment.
He added that treatment supporters in houses of tuberculosis patients must enrich their assistance in ensuring that people leaving with Tuberculosis have taken their drugs on time to sustain their lives.
