Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, says the youth of the Savannah Region should be ambassadors of peace and progress.

Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has entreated youth in the Savannah Region to be ambassadors of peace and progress.

He stated that the youth are the pivot for development, hence they should consolidate the peace of the area.

At the Gonjaland Youth Association 45th Annual Congress over the weekends, the Veep advised the youth to be circumspect of violence-related matters.

He encouraged residents of the Savannah Region to channel their resources to the development of the area.

"You are the pivot around which the accelerated development program of the government revolves, am urging you to be ambassadors of peace and progress in the region, don't allow yourselves to be used to perpetrate violence or crimes".a

Vice President Bawumia noted some of the achievements of the Akufo Addo government.

He assured the gathering that, the NPP government is a commitment to continue to provide the enabling environment and the needed infrastructure.

He mentioned that the construction of the Daboya bridge is in due course order to accelerate development in the Savannah Region.

He commended the Gonja youth association for maintaining peace in the Savannah Region.

The annual Congress brings together all youth living in Gonjaland, irrespective of their tribe.
