Angry Youth express grievances on missing light poles

Young men and women of Buoho-Brofoyedu in the Afigya Kwabre South district have expressed their anger towards Assemblyman, Hon. Duncan Opoku Nkrumah Denteh over missing lights Poles. They made claims that most of the light poles in the township are faulty therefore at night, part of town has light while the other part is totally dark.

The electoral area which consists of 4 towns; Brofoyedu, Agyarko Buoho, Ampabame, and Atrema was given 240 Light Poles by the ECG office at Offinso through the Afigya Kwabre South District which when shared among the 4 towns each of them will receive 60 poles but all the towns have received theirs except Brofoyedu which are those are in need most of these poles.

According to one of the people SoireeNews spoke to, half of the Brofoyedu township is in a blackout because electricity wires in the area have developed a fault, apart from that, one old woman in the community was nearly electrocuted due to the faulty and exposed electric wires. The youth claim their sentiments have been reported to the leaders of the community but nothing has been done about it. The young man said, he has taken all the streetlights to his hometown leaving the people of Brofoyedu to live in darkness and danger.

Sadly, one old woman claims she has almost been sent to her grave twice because of the darkness in the area. "I was on my way to the bathhouse in the evening when I slipped and fell to the ground with my head hitting the floor, I had stepped at the slippery area which would have been prevented if there were lights available" the old woman narrated. She also begs the government Officials to get involved in this issue so their lights would be fixed.

The youth also claim the Assemblyman has intentionally ignored them because he claims he got the least number of votes from the Brofoyedu township, the youth has therefore warned Honourable Duncan to fix the poles or they'll take matters into their own hands.
