COVID-19: 21 cases recorded in the Kwabre East Municipality

The Kwabre East Municipal of the Ashanti Region has recorded 21 cases of the novel COVID-19 with no death yet.

The Municipal is part of the 19 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA) to have recorded coronavirus cases out of the 43. It is the second hotspot in the Ashanti Region after Obuasi's 47 cases on top of the chat.

The Kumasi Metro is third trailed by MMDA’s like Asokwa, Suame, Old Tafo, Kwadaso and the others.

The Ashanti Region has so far recorded 163 cases with five deaths.

The Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 disclosed that the youngest of the affected person in the Region is 10 years whiles the oldest victim is 83 years adding that 33 people have recovered and three are currently on admission.

He commended the media for their service and called on them to continue to support the Health Directorate to combat the COVID-19.

“We have a long way to go and you shouldn’t get tired at all so as to support the public. Continue to support the health system and the government by taking information around so to help us contain COVID-19,” he added.
