Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has stated that the existing customers call centre of the company which is toll-free 080040000, is actively working to respond quickly to its customer's complaints, in a bid to improve quality, reliably and affordable water services delivery systems in the country.

According to the company,  the customers call centre which was located in the GWCL's Accra East office near 37 Military Hospital which the company has established in collaboration with Public Utilities Regulation Commission (PURC)  is working effectively and efficiently.

Mincing no words, the management of the company called on the general public to disregard the recent assertion by some critics to the effect that the GWCL's customers call centre was not functioning properly as was being expected by the customers.

"This is factually incorrect. We want to say that our existing GWCL's customers call centre is functioning properly since it was commissioned some years now. We have even added more technology and innovative measures to position the centre to work efficiently by way of responding quickly to the customer's complaints.

"But what we want to state to our cherished customers and the general public was that our water services delivery system is also like the system being tendered to the patients at the various hospitals. Like if you want to see a doctor in the consulting room, you have to join a queue. So should in case our customers called the centre and no one responds to their calls they should try until they lodged their complaints to us.

"But sometimes our customers think that the moment they lodged their complaints to us we should be able to quickly respond to them.

"After receiving customer's complaints, they must go through administrative processes before they must be attended to.

"So customers care is our priority in Ghana Water Company Limited, "Chief Manager of Technology and Innovation of GWCL, Ing. Dr Richard Appiah Otoo.

According to Mr Otoo, the call centre of the company is working to ensure that our customer needs to be met, adding that the staff of the company are up and doing in serving the people of the country.

Mr Otoo made these statements to respond to the series of questions to the journalists at the commissioning of the block of GWCL's Technology and Innovation Laboratory in GWCL East Accra Regional office near the 37 Military Hospital.

The office which was equipped with modern laboratory machines would help to offer total technology solutions with an ultra-modern digital Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition  System (SCDAS).

He stated that to improve the services of customers, his outfit needs to be fed by customers with information about the level of services "we are delivering, monitoring, and as well as answering inquiries about their bills."

He stressed that the toll-free number, which is 080040000, is helpful since measures are deployed well to solve the challenges within the water sector in the country.
