The Member of Parliament for Krachi-East Constituency, Honorable Wisdom Gidisu has disclosed to a section of his constituents that, education has been the top of his priorities.

Addressing the media, the two-term Member of Parliament, who sought re-election and was given the mandate in the just ended general election said, "in my term of office as the MP, classrooms have been built, desks provided."

He reflected that some island communities which didn't have schools were provided with materials to start schools with pavilions and later taken over by the government after teachers were sent there. He added that "secondary schools in the constituency have been given the maximum support when necessary as books have been supplied to students to enhance academic excellence."

He made this comment at Kparekpare, a suburb of Dambai in the Oti region while he presented packets of iron sheets to the Kparekpare M/A Junior High School to help them re-roof a pavilion that was ripped off by the wind.

Receiving the iron sheets on behalf of the school, the headteacher of the school, Mr Ketor Mawuli expressed satisfaction and thanked the Member of Parliament for his timely intervention because, after the incident, their students now occupy the primary class because of the holidays.

He told the return of the pupils from the holidays would have affected the classes of the Junior High Students yet the arrival of the roofing sheets is a great relief to the school.

Some of the students expressed their excitement and thanked the honourable MP for the support.
