The Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL) would premiere the 25th annual Ghana International Trade Fair (GITF) for 2021 virtually.

The event will be organized by the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The fair which is slated for 27th February to 28th March 2021 is going to be the maiden virtual event that would be hosted under the domain name www.tradefairgh.com.

The 25th Ghana International Trade Fair is expected to present loads of opportunities to companies, exhibitors, and visitors.

The 2021 fair would be organized under the theme "Developing new trade opportunities through digital channels".

Addressing journalists to the launch of the virtual program in Accra yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GTFCL, Dr. Agnes Adu explained that the reason for the virtual fair was a result of the global pandemic and its attendant restrictions on physical gatherings formed the basis for the virtual premiering.

She added that the Trade Fair Redevelopment project which entails the development of the entire 156-acre site into a modern, mixed-use commercial estate with convention and exhibition facilities as its centerpiece.

The said project, according to Dr. Adu started with the demolition of structures including the pavilions in which International fairs were hosted and this exercise was expected to last a couple of years.

She indicated that the exhibition would have virtual pavilions with over 500 businesses from Ghana and several other countries in Africa and beyond with a potential market population of 250 million.

The virtual fair would offer exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to connect and interact in a virtual world.

"The fair will present a wide range of unique opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their products under the categories which include: Agriculture and Food Production, Building and Construction, Industrial and Production Machinery and Sports and Recreational Equipment.

The rests are Health and Safety Equipment, Banking, and Finance Services and Scientific/ Technological Break-through”, she noted.
