Haruna Iddrisu Is A Good NDC Presidential Material In Future And I Would Vote For Him....If-- NDC Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Chairman
The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western North Region, Mr. Yaw Barimah, has described the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South Constituency in the Northern Region, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu as a good presidential material for the NDC in the future.

Mr. Barimah pointed out that the immediate past Minority Leader for NDC in Ghana's Parliament is a seasoned politician who has a vast political experiences to lead the NDC front in Presidential position and that he should be careful not to do anything to destroy that of his change.

He stressed that "if today former President John Dramani Mahama has decided not to contest the Presidential race on the ticket of the NDC, my number one choice to vote for as a potential presidential candidate of the NDC is Honorable Iddrisu because he is a good presidential material for the NDC."

Mincing no words, Mr Barimah called on the leadership of the parliamentary caucus of the NDC who were reshuffled, particularly Honorable Iddrisu to, immediately caution their agitating supporters to stop causing confusion and tension within the party.
He stressed that these members should call their supporters to order because their actions and inactions were currently threatening peace and unity within the party.

Mr Barimah made this statement when he was speaking in an interview with Soireenews. com via telephone call on Friday January 27, 2023 to contribute to the chaos caused by changes to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress in Parliament.
Haruna Iddrisu has been replaced by Ato Forson as minority leader.
A letter signed by General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey mentioned that Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will be assisted by Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as Deputy Minority Leader.
In effect, Mr. James Klutse Avedzi, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, is no longer the Deputy Minority Leader.
Mr Kwame Agbodza replaces Muntaka Mubarak as Minority Whip.
The First Deputy Whip remains Mr Ibrahim Ahmed and the Second Deputy Whip remains Comfort Doyoe Ghansah.
“New leadership would be charged to recommend consequential changes in the Ranking membership to the headquarters of the party for approval,” the statement from the NDC said.
Following the announcement of the reshuffle some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asawase constituency staged a demonstration to protest against the removal of their MP, Muntaka Mubarak, as Minority Chief Whip in Parliament.
The constituents who were clad in red armbands and headgear besieged the offices of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to protest the party’s decision.
Similarly, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Tamale South Constituency, Alhaji Rauf Sulemana, has accused the leadership of the party of trying to bring division into the party.
“The reshuffle is a bad decision. Who reshuffle’s a leader at this point. I believe Aseidu Nketia has something against Muslims hence the removal of both Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak from the minority leadership in Parliament,” Alhaji Rauf Sulemana said.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com via telephone call on Friday January 27, 2023, Mr. Barimah called on all members of the NDC to respect and rally behind the new leadership for the benefit of the party.
"Although l am not being informed before the change is done in the NDC Leadership front in Parliament we believe we have to accept the decision of the national executives to do so. And l urging those supporters who are be excited by some elements of the NPP to cause confusion within the NDC in the relation to the current change in the leadership of Parliament should stop that habits because the party is bigger than all of us," Mr. Barimah cautioned.
He said that it is high time for Honourable Haruna Iddrisu and other leadership of the parliament who were charged to call their supporters to order because the decision of the National executives of the NDC to charge them was in the supreme interest of the NDC and also in the right direction.
“I believe that sooner or later some members of the party will be called to sit down to look for a way forward. Our former National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo was charged but he currently moving with the current elected national National Chairman of the NDC, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and other national executives of the NDC who are doing the jobs of the party to ensure victory for 2024 general elections. So this charge effected in the leadership front of the NDC in the parliament should not be seen as a punishment to those who were affected,"Mr. Barimah added.
The NDC top capo stressed that the new crops of the leadership of the NDC in the Parliament were chosen on the right time, since they are the political machine guns who will match the NPP boot-for-boot in 2024 to ensure victory for the NDC.
He indicated that the party National executives did deeper consultations before naming the current leaderships.
He announced, that “It’s about time the minority gets someone who has a financial background to scrutinise the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government because of their rotten behaviours.
Mr. Ato Forson can handle the position very well. I will urge the supporters from all sides to avoid attacking themselves since we are all one family’’.
He reiterated the changes can, however, boost the spirit of supporters from all the other provinces to support the party, believing can fairly help the party win massively in the 2024 elections.
The political figure seized the opportunity to advise the executives and supporters within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency to avoid any sort of behaviours that can soil the pleasant image of the party, since their aim was to claim power from the NPP.
“I will plead all the executives and their supporters to let calm prevail in the Constituency. They should all understand ourselves to fight for our common goal, which is to claim the seat from the NPP,” he stressed.
