In the middle of record label conflict surrounding Mohbad's passing, Mr. Drew writes an emotional note

Following the passing of a rising Nigerian music star yesterday, social media has been in grief.

According to reports, the 27-year-old passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. With the 2021 release of his monster hit song "Kpk (Ko Por Ke)," Mohbad solidified his active presence in the music industry.

Although the exact cause of Mohbad's death is unknown, his friends claim that the singer had a history of suicidal thoughts. In an old interview that has resurfaced, his close friend, Bella Shmurda, stated he had tried suicide.

Bella Shmurda raised the concern that his coworker was experiencing a mental health crisis as a result of his problems with Naira Marley's record label, Marlian Records, during the With Chude interview. He did, however, leave the label in 2022 due to internal issues.

Mohbad has also openly criticized Marlian Records for making it challenging for him to move on after leaving the label. Mohbad remarked "if I die na Marlian music kill me" during a live Instagram session in one of the older videos that went popular following his passing. He explained how the label has been upsetting him in another video

Mr. Drew, who has also left his former record company, Highly Spiritual Music, appears to have taken advantage of the uproar surrounding Mohbad's passing to make his point.

Taking to Instagram, he posted an excerpt of his 'Case' song with a caption that says "We started this because we wanted to chase our passion and dreams .. but it’s becoming more and more scary everyday.. it’s turned into negativity and despair.. May God grant us light and peace".
