Jubilation In Madina NDC As Lawyer Sosu Withdraws Defamation Suit Against 3 NDC Members

THE Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Honourable Francis-Xavier Sosu has withdrawn his GH¢300,000.00 defamation suit against three NDC branch members and the President of the Coalition of Muslim Organizations, Ghana (COMOG).

The case was withdrawn on Wednesday, 20 March 2024, with the liberty to reapply following an application made to the Court in respect of that matter on 28th February 2024 by his lawyer Belinda Narkey Quaynor (Esq).

His lawyer explained that the MP was prevailed upon to withdraw the matter after the National Chairman of the NDC, Honourable Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the Dispute Resolution Committee visited MADINA Constituency and met all feuding parties to amicably settle disputes leading to the defendants calling the MP “gay MP.”

The MP filed the suit on 2nd January 2024 and an amended writ on 5th January 2024, to include the President of COMOG.

The suit was followed by a motion for interlocutory injunction filed on 17th January 2024.

There was also a pending application for interlocutory judgment in default of defence against the President of COMOG.

However, the matter has now been withdrawn entirely with liberty to reapply to give way for peace within Madina Constituency.

National Chairman Hon. Johnson Nketia also directed that all suspensions invoked by the Constituency Executive Committee on some disgruntled party members of the party in the constituency be lifted.

This was part of the directives issued by the National Chairman on the 26th of February 2024 at THE CHARISTIMATIC EVANGELISTIC MINISTRY at LEGON WARD where *CONFLICT RESOLUTION MEETING* was held.

At the end of the meeting, all functions, including disgruntled party members and other stakeholders, have all agreed to work together towards the collective interest of the party.
