Honourable Francisca Oteng Mensah of the New Patriotic Party has retained her seat in the Kwabre East Constituency with a whopping number of votes certified by the Electoral Commission.

The youngest Member of Parliament of Ghana recorded 77,635 ballots, adding more than 5,000 votes in 2020 as compared to the 71,757 votes in 2016.

The (National Democratic Congress parliamentary aspirant, Mohammed Sakib Umar came second with 22,695 votes before Lawyer Anthony Osei Poku after switching from the NPP to contest as an independent candidate in the constituency collected 10,591 votes.

The 2016 parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress, Adams Iddisah had 13,673 votes which reveal a plus of 9,022 for the current aspirant.

Meanwhile, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in the presidential elections won by 86,437 votes and comparing his result to the NPP parliamentary aspirant, a shortage of 8,802 votes occured.

The independent candidate total number means he seized some amount of votes from the MP, same as the NDC parliamentary contestant.

John Dramani Mahama was on 24,692 with Christian Kwabena Andrews collecting 401 votes.

In all, the total turnout was 82.78% with 135,904 voters expected to take part in the ballot proceedings from 280 polling stations.
