Man 33, arrested for robbery in Ashanti Region. 

The  Ahenkro police command in the Ashanti Region has arrested a man for robbery on February 28, 2022.

The suspect Abdulai Asana 33, robbed a 21- year-old tricycle rider on their way to Akom axle weighing point, a place located in the Ashanti Region.

Information gathered indicates that Abdullai and his accomplish hired the services of Bashiru Ali around 9 Pm and agreed to pay him when they reached their destination.

Upon reaching half through the total journey, they asked the rider Bashiru, to alight as they pass the latter, but before the victim could realize it, Abdulai and his friend had poured a powdered hot pepper into his eyes.

They further pulled a knife on him to surrender the bike and belonging or be killed. 

They succeeded in the lobbying of the tricycle and an amount of 230.00 ghc being his daily sales and bolted with it.

IThe information further indicated that the suspect was later arrested by the police upon tracking the tricycle.

 In an interview with the Afigya Kwabre District police Commander, Asp Edward Odame he confirmed that the suspect was arrested at Medoma. He continued that the suspect will be arraigned before Offinso circuit court to be remanded into police custody to assist in further investigations.

The remaining suspect has taken to his heels.

However, the police have promised to bring into book the remaining suspect but ask for inhabitants' assistance.
