Lionel Messi has 21 days to decide his future at Barcelona.

The Argentine is out of contract after June and although talks have been held between Joan Laporta and the 33-year old of a renewal, Messi is yet to receive an offer that he can look over and decide.

The Barcelona president has already made intentions known that Messi is key in the rebuilding process which was one ultimate reason for his election as the club president.

A two-year offer according to Marca is being prepared for the six-time Balon d’Or winner with a 50 million euro gross salary per year, around the player’s current wage.

A 10-year offer for Messi to take up an ambassadorial role for the club is also discussed, which would see him earn ten million euros. The deal has already been explained to Jorge Messi, the Argentine’s father and agent but nothing concrete has been set.

The player continues to be linked to Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City although Messi’s chances of leaving Spain is unlikely.

Barcelona has already added Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Emerson to their squad to be competitive in the upcoming season, as demanded by the player.

The three weeks ahead has a lot to unfold on the Messi saga.
