Jurgen Klopp believes Messi’s inclusion in the Manchester City squad will make them formidable ahead of next season to fight for titles they have failed to grab.

The Liverpool manager believes the Premier League already has that bragging right yet the pedigree of the 33-year old Argentine will quick-heighten the Manchester club to a level, which would require more time to invest.

"It would obviously help Man City and make it more difficult to beat them,” Klopp said.

"For the Premier League it would be great, but I am not sure the Premier League needs that boost."

Messi has a year left on his current contract and is price tagged at 700m euros. A move away from the Camp Nou was triggered following the Argentine tendering of a transfer request to the Barca board.

Man City have been spotted as the world best player’s preferred location if his transfer wishes are granted. Jurgen Klopp has recognized the impact of the Barcelona captain in every given team and ruled out Liverpool's interest in the number 10 man as a result of his release clause.

“Interest? Who doesn't want to have Messi in their team? But no chance."

Liverpool will play Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday, August 29, 2020, in the FA Community Shield tournament. The Reds were Premier League winners as Arteta collected the FA cup trophy from Chelsea; the manager's first major trophy for Arsenal since he succeeded Unai Emery at the Emirates.

Klopp has explained the game as a competitive one, which would demand everything from the Liverpool boys to win. he dismissed the media’s perception of the competition as a friendly and admired the Gunners as respectable challengers of the trophy.

“Actually we don’t have friendlies really. We have ‘test’ games, training games and this kind of stuff. It’s neither, nor. It’s a competition. It’s really rare you have the perfect time to prepare for a specific game. “If you would ask me how long I want to have time for a pre-season, I would say give me six weeks with a full squad, that would be great. We have, until the season starts, four weeks, which will be slightly interrupted by international duties and all that stuff, and now of course by this game.

“I would be very surprised if this would be the best game we play this season but we should be ready to fight for a result because the opponent has a similar situation. So, just give it a proper try, give everything you have and try to win it. That’s all I can say about it. It’s not a test game, it’s not a friendly, it’s a proper game – against Arsenal anyway. So we will try whatever we can.
