NDC man alleges catching presiding officer being bribed by NPP Man in Assin North By-election

A Communications Team Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, has made a shocking discovery during the by-election in Assin North.

According to him, while closely monitoring the election proceedings at the Breman D/A Primary School, he caught a presiding officer receiving a bribe from John Boadu, a prominent figure in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Nunekpeku said he wasted no time in taking action. he recorded the incident, called the police, and had the money retrieved from the presiding officer as evidence.

The revelation has sparked outrage among members of the NDC, who see it as yet another example of the NPP's corrupt tactics to win elections.

According to Nunekpeku, John Boadu had bribed the presiding officer to do the NPP's bidding and ensure that their candidate emerged victorious in the by-election.

"This brazen act of corruption has raised serious questions about the integrity of the electoral process and the fairness of the contest. The incident has also highlighted the importance of vigilance and accountability in ensuring free and fair elections", he said.
