Disqualified aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Weija-Gbawe Constituency Parliamentary Primaries, Patrick Kwabena Ampong Baidoo has threatened to sue the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the party over defamatory comments passed about him.

The disqualified aspirant popularly Known as “Blue Boy” , said the Regional Secretary, Mr Odarlai Parker’s comments about him, during and after the vetting process, were uncalled for and mere allegations.

Speaking in an interview on Rainbow Radio yesterday, Blue Boy revealed his intentions to drag Mr Parker to court as comments passed against him puts his name into disrepute.

“He (Mr Parker) should be ready to meet me at the court, so that he answers to all these allegations raised against me. You cannot disparage my reputation and go scot free” he said

Blue Boy who was seeking to unseat the incumbent MP Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah, was disqualified on Monday, 2nd March, during the vetting at the NPP Greater Accra Regional Office at Dzorwulu.

In an interview with Rainbow Radio, Mr Parker who was part of the regional vetting committee, alleged that Blue Boy was involved in tribal politics and incessantly disrespects his superiors. He cited an instance where Blue Boy allegedly told senior party executives, including the National Youth organizer, Sammy Awuku that “He is in charge”

“Blue Boy went to his constituency to pick a form, but he was disallowed. This is due to his bad behavior. He insults everyone we wants at any time.” He added.

Mr Parker also alleged that, Blue Boy threatened the Parliamentary Committee Chairman in his constituency that, he was going to burn his house and that he sent some “assailants” to carry out the threat.

Responding to these allegations Blue Boy said, the regional secretary’s comments are false and just to prevent him from successfully contesting in the party’s parliamentary primaries .

“I am not a ‘landguard’ and what he (Mr Parker) is alleging, are things he is saying to disparage my name. These are premeditated because he has formed certain opinions in head to destroy my reputation in order to prevent me from achieving my goal”

Blue Boy asserted that, if Mr Parker wants to avoid the court and settle the issue amicably, he should apologise publicly and clarify some statements made.
