She underlined other factors which include wrongful overtaking, wrong movement of pedestrians, lack of streetlights, non-compliance to traffic light regulations and other human errors as factors that also contribute to road traffic accidents.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Madam Pearl Adusu Sateckla has attributed the major causes of road traffic accidents to over speeding among some road users.

Speaking in an interview on GIFTs FM morning Show dubbed Anopa Bosuo chaired by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Madam Sateckla emphasized that the data published by the the Director General of the National Road Safety Authority, Mr David Osafo Adonteng which revealed a slight increase in road crashes during the first two months of January and February 2024 were mostly caused by overspeeding which contribute to 45-50% of Road accidents. 
She underlined other factors which include wrongful overtaking, wrong movement of pedestrians, lack of streetlights, non-compliance to traffic light regulations and other human errors as factors that also contribute to road traffic accidents. 
She emphasized that the Authority is working together with the Ghana Police Service to intensify the Stay Alive campaign that commenced in 2020.
The campaign  aimed at creating awareness for road users on road accidents and how to reduce the menace stressing that this year's team for the awareness creation is titled "Stop Speeding, Stay Alive" to ensure the reduction of speed on our roads to reduce accidents that occur through over speeding. 
She cautioned  drivers and other road users to be watchful in the discharge of their duties to ensure accident-free cases on our roads in this political season.
He stressed that drivers must stay concentrated and be tolerant on roads by staying away from wrongful overtaking to avoid unforeseen circumstances and calamities through accidents.
