The Teachers in the Ho District of Ghana National Association of Teachers(GNAT) has given the Government and their leadership thirty days ultimatum to address what they call, “The Ugly Tendencies Within Ghana Education Service.”

Speaking at a press conference in Ho, teachers in the Ho district GNAT said, the government is treating them unfairly whiles others enjoy a lot of enumeration without any care for the classroom teachers.

They mentioned that the issues affecting Ghanaian teachers and education at large. 

According to them, education in Ghana is incomplete without Ghanaian teachers but the obvious question that always begs for answers is whether Ghanaian teachers are given that due recognition, good remuneration and the respect that they deserve.

Some of the concerns raised are teachers promotion, Salaries arrears, Licensure examination, Legacy arrears, Resit Examination,4% salary increment among others.

They called on the leadership of GNAT as a matter of urgency to meet with the Ministry of Education and arrange for remarking of those examination scripts and subsequent publishing of the results of teachers who were told to bring their documents to the Regional Education Office for verification but were later told they have failed the examination.
