Paris Saint Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir’s Champions League game will restart on Wednesday after players walked off the pitch on Tuesday night when the fourth official was accused of racism.

The game was halted for 13 minutes following a red card being shown to one of Basaksehir staff, assistant manager Pierre Webo with video footage showing the visitors protest of an alleged racist language against the Cameroonian.

Demba Ba was also spotted protesting with the fourth official for calling Pierre Webo “that black guy.” UEFA released a statement after the incident saying it has launched an investigation into the matter.

“Following an alleged incident involving the fourth official, the match was temporarily suspended. After consultation with both teams, it was agreed that the match would restart with a different fourth official,” the governing body said.

“UEFA will thoroughly investigate the matter and further communication will be made in due course.”

RB Leipzig have already qualified into the knockout stage after their 3-2 win against Manchester United at the Red Bull Arena.

A point for PSG is enough to qualify them into the 1/16 stage of the European competition.
