Some residents of Anyimadukurom, a suburb in the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti region, are accusing the Odikro of their community Nana Takyi Mensah, of being the cause of open defecation on the rise in their community.

In an interview by Soireenews Correspondent Yaw Opoku with a resident who spoke on anonymity, the community used to have a public toilet facility in the community but with an instruction from the Odikro, it was brought down.

The land has been used for the construction of a church, despite the fact that person's in the area have no access to toilets.

He said a complaint has been lodged to the Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East constituency Honourable Patrick Boakye Yiadom together with some opinion leaders but to no avail.

Due to that most residents openly defecate which is a worry and a threat to their health.

Meanwhile, the Odikro for the community Nana Takyi Mensah has debunked the claim.

Nana emphasizes that the toilet was in a bad state hence the need for a leader to put in place measures for a new building.

He is appealing to the residents to exercise patience while a new toilet facility is about to be constructed.
