The Head Pastor of the Fountain of Life Assemblies of God (FOLAG), Reverend Felix Kwaku Delali Demebu, has admonished Christians to uphold holiness.

This, he stressed, was crucial because everything about God is holy.

Rev Demebu made the call while delivering a sermon on the FOLAG Youth Ministry Day celebration on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Manhean-tiGO Pole in the Ga West Municipal Assembly, Greater Accra Region.

The Assemblies of God (A/G) Youth Ministry Day is a programme organised annually to spark the desire of the youth in the church, and to also help win more youth for Christ.

The man of God spoke on the theme; “Shifting, Growing and Transforming into Holiness.”  According to him, Assemblies of God, Ghana has reached a point where it was encouraging its members to live holy for God.

He explained that one of the reasons Assemblies of God, Ghana was charging its youth meeting to youth service was to ensure that members grow and transform into holiness.

He, therefore, charged the youth in the church to always have a pure heart, adding that “…as a Christian youth, you must have a pure heart before God, for your joy to be accepted by heaven.”

However, he made a passionate appeal to the youth not to be influenced by the “joy of the world,” maintaining that revival for holiness did not mean that there will be no challenges.

Elaborating more on the theme, Rev Demebu pointed out that there were four basic principles that Christians must observe in order to shift, grow in order to transform into holiness.

These, he said, were having a pure heart; controlling, disciplining one’s eyes and body; being conscious of judgement day, and; more importantly, understanding that youthfulness is but for a short period.

“Don’t waste your life in your youthful days, but rather use those to serve God,” he advised.

Additionally, Rev Demebu enjoined FOLAG youth to be mindful of the kind of lifestyles they live, bearing in mind that “we will one day be judged by God.”

He said it was regrettable that some Christians live their lives as if there was no judgement day.

Earlier, the Youth Pastor of FOLAG Youth Ministry, Pastor Allswell Nii Adjiri Akrashie, thanked members of both the Women’s and Men’s Ministries for actively participating in their activities.

Later in the programme, the leadership of the youth ministry used the occasion to present awards to church members who supported their activities.

The event was also spiced with a drama on holiness, a choreography and very powerful song ministrations by the Youth Ministry Choir.

Prior to its climax on Sunday, the youth ministry lined up a series of activities from Monday, July 3 – July 7, 2023.  These included a float to preach the gospel to residents in Manhean and its satellite communities and evening revival services.

The revival services were organised in the church’s auditorium from Monday, June 3 - Friday, June 7, 2023.  Rev Demebu, who was the speaker throughout the four-day programme, spoke on holiness for revival.
