Ghanaian Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has attacked Sarkodie again, claiming that Sarkodie's hit single does not follow the current trends of Afrobeat.

He pointed out Sarkodie's inability to follow the current trends, along with other Ghanaian musicians is the reason Ghanaian music is less popular than Nigerian’s.

This is the latest in a series of rants that Shatta has been aiming at Sarkodie, claiming that he is not trying to insult the artiste of the decade but merely trying to point out the truth.

The two artistes were good friends up until their relationship broke down amidst news of Sarkodie signing a new deal. Shatta called him a broke artist and a hypocrite for signing the deal behind him, when it seemed apparently that they had both agreed on other terms.

Shatta has gone on multiple social media platforms to criticize Sarkodie, majorly along the lines of Sarkodie not being who everyone thinks that he is.

In an interview on Onua FM, Shatta spoke off why Ghanaians are failing to compete with Nigerians on global music charts when he claimed that Sarkodie's new single "Oofeetso" does not follow the Afrobeat trend unlike his own song "Borjor".

He said the failure of Sarkodie and other artists to follow music trends is killing Ghanaian music and elevating Nigerians who are keen to enter the same genre.

He claimes that if Nigeria's Wizkid releases a song which makes it big in the market, Davido would want to produce a song with similar bpm or the beat but with different tempo to suit the market.

As they all work together to keep the Nigerian flag flying high.

He says it makes no sense for Sarkodie to release "Oofeetso", which is not in trend with any current Afrobeat theme.

"But (he should know that) it is business for us to trend in the Nigerian market as well... That’s why we see on iTunes in Ghana, Davido, Wizkid (and co at the top), they’re trending. Then Sarkodie 42, Stonebwoy, 63, Shatta Wale 75," he said.

Sarkodie, the BET Award winner, released a new single "Oofeetso", and although he had not replied directly to Shatta's claims, fans now believe he has with his cryptic lines in the song.

Sarkodie says that the media had been trying to get him to respond to Shatta but he won't, because "he is done saving careers".
He posted a video that said:

"The media on the phone trying to get me to respond to beefs … Naa man I done saved a lot of careers. 2020 you pay for response.”
