My depression worsened after I had sex with my therapist – Omah Lay

Omah Lay, a hip-hop superstar from Nigeria, has spoken about his battle with chronic depression and how it nearly took his life.

The winner of the 2020 Headies Next rated award admitted to having been close to passing away while using his official Twitter account to discuss his battle with depression.

In addition to his contentious separation, he said he lost a few pals who had promised to support him at every turn.

This, he claimed, caused him to experience sadness, and things only got worse when he found himself in bed with the therapist who was supposed to be able to help him psychologically.

He admitted in a series of tweets that he just had a near-fatal accident while working in a studio.

He stated:

"I want to express my heart through this app in this way. Boy Alone might be the last song you hear me cry on since on G I was going to kill myself because I was that sad, insecure, terrified, and miserable.

“My depression became worse after I knack my therapist.  People who I formerly looked up to stopped loving me.

When I observed people's doubts, contempt, and hatred for G, I lost myself. I'm not sure, but maybe I was just thinking too much.

I thought I had lost everything until I finished recording Boy Alone and realized I was one of the hardest-working musicians in African music!

On Friday, July 15, 2022, Omah Lay released his debut album, "Boy Alone".
