NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Manya Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region, Honourable Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, has assured young people that he was committed to empowering them.

According to the workaholic MP, he settled for sport because of its unique power to attract, mobilize and inspire various groups of people in his constituency.

He stressed that it is built-in values of teamwork, fairness, discipline and respect for the opponent.
"We are having conversations geared towards leading in a society with sound morals. We want our youths to be the lead agents on issues of integrity, peace building and conflict resolution," told Soireenews.com.
Honourable Nyarko reiterated his commitment and readiness to transforming the lives of youth by supporting their sports talents.
Honourable Nyarko was speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com when organized this year's Easter Soccer gala competition for the youth at Akateng in a campaign aimed at promoting peace and youth's talents.

The event which hosts 16 participating teams is being fully sponsored by the MP.
 According to him, this event is to sensitize our youth that they can also earn a living through their various talents like sports. 
He stressed that tournament is also aimed at offering the youth a chance to nurture their talents as well as keeping them away from social vices like alcoholism and substance abuse.
He pointed out that sports promote peaceful coexistence as youth from different tribes come together.
He indicated that they have realized that there are a lot of youth with brilliant talents and this would not have been discovered if we didn't have such initiative like this.
The NDC outspoken MP urged all the teams to play their hearts out but in a friendly manner.
He assured the players that he would use his scarce resources to upgrade the playing field as early as he can.
"Bear with me as this field can't be used when it's being rehabilitated." The MP said amid a spontaneous applause from the large crowd that were present to watch the game.
Honourable  Nyarko took the kick off and hostilities started in a whirlwind fashion with Simple Winners FC locking horns with Momo FC.
And by the 19th minute, Simple Winners FC were up by a goal that was gently floated from the left corner into the far top corner of the post.
