The Kontihene of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem speaking on behalf of the Omanhene charged the president to speed up work on the Sunyani Airport to improve transportation.

Omanhene of Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri has appealed for a Medical School at the University of Energy and Natural Resources to help train officers to deliver quality health care.

Speaking on behalf of the Omanhene when the president called on the Sunyani Traditional Council as part of his two-day working visit to the Bono Region, the Krontihene, Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem said it was long overdue the regional capital got such facility for training of medical officers within and around the Bono Region.

According to him, this will enable interested and qualified individuals to receive training without difficulty which will go a long way to increasing local revenue. He also urged the president to convert the Regional hospital into a teaching hospital. The Krontihene among other things urged the president to fast track the construction of roads under the synohydro project in the Municipality.

He also charged the president to speed up work on the Sunyani Airport to improve transportation. Touching on water challenges in the Regional capital and beyond, he entreated the government to ensure that the water project which was promised to the people during the 2020 campaign kick starts.

In order to improve on sporting activities in the region, the Traditional Council want a stadium to promote local football.

He also commended the NPP government for the immerse contribution towards developing Sunyani and urged that all shoddy work done on various projects be fixed.

The president however promised to deliver on the request of the Traditional Council.

He was accompanied by the Employment and Labour Relations Minister and Sunyani West MP, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Sunyani East MP, Lawyer Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene, Sunyani West MCE, Deputy Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Lawyer Alfred Tuah Yeboah, Health minister, Deputy General Secretary and other party regional and constituency executives.
