Pupils of Holy Trinity Primary School in Lungni in the Nanumba South of Northern Region are calling on the Government to help them with classroom desks, teaching and learning materials.

The Head Master of the school, Nkibey James Koyajah says they have been abandoned by the government which has negatively affected the school to the extent that posted teachers "run away" because of the nature the school finds itself.

He added that they have reported several times to the District Assembly and followed up but yielded nothing.

He has therefore appealed to the government, Non-governmental organizations and various stakeholders to come to their support.

The lack of teachers, desks, learning materials and blackboards in the Holy Trinity Primary School is a challenge and the deplorable state of classrooms if not taken care could cause accidents.

The situation has also contributed to pupils from far places dropping out of school and according to some of the learners, walking barefoot without any motivation is a great disadvantage to their future.

They are therefore appealing to the government and other stakeholders to come to their aid with learning materials.

The Assemblyman, Mabognan Simon Nwajah explained how worrying it is to be teaching in such structures where students sit on the floor to absorb knowledge.

He further showed displeasure on the shoddy work of the contractor who built the former classrooms and called on the Government to get him to post to furnish the building.
