The Chairman of Atebubu / Amantin Bees Keepers' Association of the Bono East Region, Nana Boadan George has called for government's intervention into their business as bush fire and thieves are collapsing their work.

According to him, the price of honey will soon go up because of the regular occurrence of the wildfires destroying their boxes and thieves involvement in lifting off the rest.

He addressed to Soiree News correspondent George Osei that due to such challenging activities, they are finding it tough catering for their family.

"Almost huge amount of money is been spent on this bees keeping business but thieves do not allow the progress of our trade year in and out," he added. 

Nana Boadan George added that for the past five (5) years, more than two thousand boxes of bees have been burnt by the notorious bush fires in the various communities in the Atebubu / Amantain Municipality, with the Police failing to assist them to arrest thieves who vandalise their bee farms.

He, therefore, called for government's intervention through financial Support else, most of their members will quit the bee business.
