Tipper Truck Kills Suame Police Officer While Chasing Robber For Stealing A Mobile Phone

A Police officer who works at Suame Police Station in Kumasi Department of Formed Police Unit (FPU) of the Ghana Police Service has been killed in a tragic motor accident.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 am on Wednesday April 17, 2024 on the Kumasi Technical University-Ayigya road.
The officer named Rabi, met his untimely death when is chasing a robber,who was reported to have stolen a mobile from a man at Kumasi Technical University area.
The officer, riding a police patrol motorbike, met his untimely death when is chasing a robber, who has stolen a mobile from a man at Kumasi Technical University area collided with a stationary truck, leading to fatal injuries that claimed his life instantly.
However, when the police officer chased out the robber with his motor bike and that the robber who was also ridding a motor bike tried to speed to over take a car and eventually the robber collided with the tipper truck which was packed on the showlder of the road.
However, the suspect, who was also riding a motorbike and being pursued by the officer, managed to survive the accident.
According to an eyewitness, the police officer involved in the pursuit of the robber failed to notice the stationary truck until it was too late, leading to the tragic accident.
“They were both speeding and run into the articulated truck parked on the road,” the eye witness said.
The body of the deceased police officer has been taken to the morgue, while the suspect is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
